Does bmw idrive 6 have a nag screen1/22/2024 ![]() ![]() Now I know that, for future ConnectedDrive updates, I might have to reactivate CarPlay afterwards. I have no idea how the CarPlay box got unchecked, but I can only guess that it had something to do with updating ConnectedDrive when I was trying to solve my ConnectedDrive app problems with the BMW Genius. Now that I've seen it again, I recalled that this is exactly how I set it up the day I bought the car. Then, on my iPhone, I went to Settings>General>CarPlay and saw my car in the list ("BMW" followed by a 5-digit number). ![]() I had my car "forget" my phone and my phone "forget" my car. On my screen it wasn't visible until I scrolled down a bit. In iDrive 6, go to Manage Mobile Devices>Settings, CarPlay has a box that should be checked/ticked. I didn't even know it was possible, but it was just that simple. ![]() In trying to turn off WiFi (as suggested in the comments) as a last-ditch effort to try to solve this issue, I found a slightly buried menu where, for some reason, CarPlay was turned off. The other frustrating aspect is that a lot of videos I found online show either older iDrive systems or iDrive 7. So maybe this isn't that silly, but still, it was a stupid checkmark solution, just not as easily found as it should be, in my very humble opinion, as I'm not an engineer or IT expert, in iDrive. I feel a bit sheepish, like when the IT guy asks you if your computer is plugged in, and you respond, "Of course it is," only to find that it isn't. EDIT: SOLVED! I bolded the important parts for those who just want the answer. ![]()
